Her work is not just about photography and storytelling; it's about inspiring others to appreciate and explore Canada's rich heritage. Through her lectures and writings, Holden encourages people to embark on their own journeys, discovering the wonders that lie within their own country.
Voyage of the Vikings
In 1991, Lynn was in L’Anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland when the Viking ship the “Gaia” arrived from Norway to celebrate the 1000 year mark of their ancestors’ discovery of North America. After speaking to the men on board the ship, she decided to document all the areas the Vikings had settled, discovered, pillaged, or traded with. This project took 34 years and was finished in 2023. After downloading all her photos she started to write the book “Voyage of the Vikings”. It is the complete history of their era.
Lynn's presentation will take you from Newfoundland to Norway and then onto Scotland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, Denmark. England, France, Sicily, Malta, Sweden, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, and the Baltic States. This compelling narrative blends historical exploration with stunning photography, offering a unique perspective on the early Norse presence in North America.
Her book, Voyage of the Vikings, will be available for purchase.
