Matthew Bowser
Matthew is a registered Professional Engineer, holds a Masters of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo, and works as a bridge engineer for the Canadian based consultant MMM Group.
Matthew and other engineers at MMM Group support the Nairobi based non-profit called Bridging the Gap Africa, an organization that believes marginalized African communities should not suffer from the dangers posed by impassable rivers.
Over 300,000 million people live in a walking world. During this talk Matthew will introduce you to this walking world and share how footbridges prevent drowning and ensure safe, uninterrupted access to education, health care, and economic opportunity.
The presentation will include photos and stories from multiple communities throughout rural Kenya and will explain how local Canadian professionals, businesses, and philanthropists are enabling footbridges that bring social change to a walking world.
